Deputy is now available as a connector, in beta. Connect it and your AI client can read and manage your workforce directly: who is rostered, who actually worked, who is on leave, and what any of it costs.

What you can do

174 tools across the areas a Deputy account is actually used for:

• Rosters and shifts. List, create, update and delete shifts; check who is scheduled on a given day, area or location.
• Time and attendance. Read timesheets, compare rostered against worked hours, and find the gaps between them.
• Leave. See requests and balances, and approve or decline.
• People. Employees, their agreements, training records and pay rates.
• Awards and pay rules. Read the rules that decide what a shift is worth, which is what makes "what did last week cost" answerable rather than guesswork.
• Locations, areas, tasks and sales metrics.

Connecting it

Deputy uses OAuth, so you authorise it once from the Connectors page and nothing is typed by hand. Every Deputy plan can use the API, so there is no tier to upgrade to first.

One Deputy account per workspace. If you run several Deputy installs, give each one its own workspace.

What it deliberately will not do

Some things are left to a person in Deputy, on purpose:

• Ending someone's employment. There is no terminate, reactivate or delete tool for an employee, and the fields that would amount to one are not writable either. Whether someone is employed should not be one instruction away from a chat window, in either direction.
• Webhooks. Deputy's event subscriptions are account-wide plumbing, usually feeding a payroll or reporting system nobody in the conversation is watching. Deputy does not replay missed events, so a wrong edit there breaks something quietly and permanently.
• Custom field definitions. Their values are fully readable and writable; the field definitions themselves are schema, and changing them is a settings job.

Beta

Beta means fully connectable and fully usable, badged as still proving itself. Every tool has been exercised against a real Deputy account, but it has not yet run for long against many. If something behaves oddly, the feedback board is the fastest way to reach us.
