ServiceM8 Add-on Builder: describe an add-on, try it, then put it live.

New5

The ServiceM8 Add-on Builder is a new connector, in beta and free on every plan. Tell your AI what you want ServiceM8 to do, a button on the job, a page under Account, Addons, or something that runs by itself when a job changes, and it writes the add-on, shows you what it will look like, and puts it live in your account when you say so. ServiceM8 hosts and runs the add-on; there is nothing to install and no developer account to set up.

NewBuild add-ons from a chat

Your AI reads a built-in guide to ServiceM8 add-ons, writes the add-on, and checks it before anything reaches ServiceM8: that it is well formed, that it only asks for the access it needs, and that its buttons and menu entries are wired up. You see where it will appear and what it will be able to do, in plain words, before you decide.

NewTry it before it goes live

Your AI can open a preview of the add-on right in the chat. Click its buttons and pages on a sample job, switch between viewing as a business owner and as a staff member, and see exactly how it behaves. Nothing reaches your ServiceM8 account while you try it. The preview shows in apps that support interactive previews, such as Claude and ChatGPT.

NewPoint at what to change

Turn on comments in the preview, click any part of the add-on and say what should change. Send your comments to the chat and your AI makes the changes and opens the preview again.

NewDeploy, watch and switch off

When you are happy, your AI puts the add-on live, usually in under a minute. It can watch the add-on run while you try it in ServiceM8, and switch it off straight away if anything misbehaves. If an add-on needs a key for another service, you enter it on a one-time FloConnector page, never in the chat.

NewSafe by default

Add-ons can only use access from a reviewed list, and you see every permission before anything goes live. Your AI can only change add-ons it built, never other add-ons in your account, and it never deletes one. Try new add-ons in a test ServiceM8 account first if you have one.

The Add-on Builder connects separately from the ServiceM8 connector, with its own approval in ServiceM8. The full guide, with pictures of where add-ons appear and how the preview works, is in the help centre: ServiceM8 Add-on Builder.
